May 30, 2024
On May 30, 2024, Keystone Cooperative finalized the purchase of a portion of the Donahue Gas Company and immediately assumed servicing the business.
Donahue Gas Company had operations in Plevna, Indiana and specialized in residential, light commercial, and industrial propane service, installation, and design.
Keystone Cooperative is a farmer-owned cooperative with roots dating back to the 1920’s. Keystone Cooperative provides delivery of propane, heating oil, liquid fuels, lubricants, and other petroleum products. Keystone’s propane market geography is adjacent to the Donahue Gas Company of Plevna trade area which will allow additional synergies. Keystone also operates divisions in Agronomy, Grain, and Swine & Animal Nutrition.
“We were looking for a company with the same family values, so our Plevna customers would be in good hands. As we have worked through this acquisition, it was evident this is a win-win for both sides of the table. The culture and values of the two organizations will help support success of this business moving forward,” said Brian Donahue.
“Keystone is excited about the opportunity to bring the Plevna portion of Donahue Gas Company customers and employees onto our team. The high level of service that Donahue Gas Company has offered for many years matches Keystone’s commitment to customer service and support. We look forward to maintaining the customer experience that these customers are accustomed to receiving,” said Keystone Cooperative President and CEO Kevin Still.
“We are pleased to bring this strong business into Keystone. The Keystone team wants to assure Donahue Gas customers of the same quality, commitment, and dedication to service that they are accustomed to. During this transition period customers can be confident that Keystone will continue to meet their propane needs with fair price, efficiency and integrity,” said Eric Adair, Keystone’s VP of Energy.
